Pre-paying allowed me to lock-in at today's price. When I expire my survivors only have to make one phone call to Earth, and everything is taken care of by a team at Earth, making the process simple and straightforward for my survivors, during what is usually a stressful time. If I happen to be out of state or out of the country when I expire, the travel plan they offer will pick up my body from anywhere in the world, and transport it to the soil transformation facility at no additional cost to my survivors. The staff is very knowledgeable and personable, and they have been readily available to answer every question that I had, during and after the webinar. Choosing Earth Funeral for my end of life planning was an easy decision for me, and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an alternative to traditional burial.

I am implacably opposed to everything involved in conventional burial. I've known about body composting - terramation - for a long time because a college friend of my daughter's invented it. The only option, though, was in the Pacific Northwest and I'm in the Boston area. I had been hoping to live long enough for a trustworthy facility to open up on the East Coast. A few years ago I had done some online research. Earth Funeral therefore had my email address. They had just opened a facility in Maryland and contacted me about attending a webinar about their services. The webinar was excellent. There was an option to speak further with a staff member. The one who contacted me was lovely and exceptionally well informed and competent. I am greatly relieved to have signed the contract. Needless to say, my family is, too. When my irreverent son, who is an avid gardener, heard about the nourishing soil that results from terramation, he said something I thought was just marvelous. "Terrific, Mom. I'll put you on my tomatoes."

I chose Earth Funeral because it just makes sense to be returned to the soil. I’m 93 and I wanted to finish this before I die so my kids didn’t have to make this decision when they were mourning. The last consideration was because the process is better for the environment and I am conscious of my impact.

I began seriously thinking about the choices in end of life cascades ago. One daughter died as an infant and c was buried in the town cemetery...that gave solace to the older sibling for a short period of time. My dad's ashes were sprinkled in the river where he went fly fishing and my mom's ashes were sprinkled on the land she had donated to conservancy. Two years ago, the death was closer to me and I went on a search b to find a less polluting way to deal with remains in a thoughtful and respectful way . I had a long talk b with an advisor with Earth Funeral and discovered a solution....but not then because new facilities were pending and not yet available on the East Coast. But I am a huge advocate for body transformation. So I have been signing petitions and lobbying for approval. Now there are facilities that could accept me. I signed up. One call from my survivors and the matter will be accomplished. The remains will be transported to the nearest facility, paperwork will be handled. Necessary filing will be done. In a few months, we can receive a small container of newly created soil. The rest will go to a conservation area. I couldn't be happier with this arrangement; my kids are relieved of difficult decisions in a sad time.

My family required Earth's services unexpectedly. However, it was very simple to sign up online and connect them with a local funeral home. Earth staff provided non-stop care and attention throughout the process. Friendly, professional, and compassionate. Everything was taken care of for us quickly, professionally, and compassionately. Representatives from Earth checked in with us proactively and were also always available to answer our questions. We found their prices to be more reasonable than others, and I do not believe service would have been better anywhere else. We will definitely contact Earth again if and when the need arises.

My wife and I have always tried to be environmentally-conscious, including how our funerals would be managed. We were thrilled to find out that Earth offered a composting service that would bring our remains back to earth without a lot of damage to the environment. In fact, the compost created by our bodies would serve to replenish soil and still have composted remains for the immediate family, if they desired. Our experience with Earth has so far been very positive: from the very informative webinar to personal phone calls to follow-up emails, we have very happy with Earth and their process - so far, mercifully, we have not need it :). However, when that day comes, we are confident that the folks at Earth will do everything to support our final wishes. Earth has made the process look completely seamless, including how to handle the body and bring it to their facility. I'm so sincerely happy that I chose Earth funeral! I was a little worried at 1st. I had assumed my husband and I would be cremated and it was difficult for me to change my mind. But composting actually helps the environment and leaves "no footprints". That's what I have always tried to do, so this was perfect. All my questions were answered immediately, we are in Pa. where they did not have a facility but they had my husband's body picked up and transported within I think it was 12 hours? Or sooner. After composting I was sent some of his soil and the majority of the soil was used in a reforestation project. I can't thank Earth funeral enough!

I heard about Earth funerals on the internet. After that I saw they offered a live webinar. After watching, my wife and I decided that it is the way we would like to go. I thought that the price was fair, considering my mother passed away in January this year with a pre arranged burial and it still cost over $8000 for the casket. Everyone i dealt with after the webinar was very helpful to answer any questions we had.

I chose this as a way of not just doing no harm but doing good. I love the idea of feeding a forest which in turn reduces carbon and adds oxygen.

I was unhappy with current options available posthumously for myself. I didn't want to be put in a box that will eventually leach formaldehyde into the earth. I didn't want cremation for aesthetic reasons & pollution of the air. I am a fan of leave-no-trace while alive & this gentle, useful solution is perfect. Pragmaticly I am satisfied that my funds are protected until I die. 100% satisfied & my children are pleased as well.

I have long been against chemical contamination of the environment, unnatural use of land space, and added stress for family members during burial. I recently relocated to Maryland to live with my daughter but, among the many things l left behind in North Carolina, was my intention to have a natural burial on my own land. While this remains possible, transferring across state lines can be burdensome. Burial in a Veterans cemetery without embalming remained an option; however, a vault is non-negotiable. I briefly considered aquamation, but kept delaying. When an article came across my digital newsfeed about Earth Funeral becoming available to Maryland residents, I knew immediately this was an alternative worth considering. I followed the link and read carefully about the process in the FAQ section. My partner still wanted to visit the facility and we seamlessly scheduled a site visit. It has been my desire since high school to have my remains turned into the soil to fertilize plant growth and not take up any land; which, to me, should be for the living. There is very little competition in this market so they could probably charge more, but their pricing is lower than any other form of funeral arrangements. Having chosen an in-earth-type burial as the preferred end of life repository for our remains, my wife and I then looked for options to that end, for years. After attending their recent seminar, though, it was clear that Earth Funeral was the answer, so we made an appointment to speak with one of their counselors to answer any questions that may arise. Our Earth counselor, Tim Miller, walked us through the paperwork and patiently answered the few questions we still had, but he also took the time to explain the whole process, from a report of passing, through the physical process itself, all the way to remains amending the soil in the way we’d prefer. Exactly what we’d looked for. We were glad to get this checked off our bucket list. We’d finally found the method that meshed with our values and our wishes with nothing compromised.

I did research work on preplanning my funeral arrangements with companies that provide green burial, water composting and cremation. I chose Earth Funeral because it’s eco-friendly, practical and the least expensive compared to other kinds of services. Since I live in San Francisco, California, it is logical to choose them. Currently, their nearest facility is located in Nevada, and soon they’ll be opening up one in California. I feel good about my decision because the staff is very professional in all of my interactions with them. When I send an e-mail to them, or leave a telephone message for them, they respond to me in a timely manner.

Wonderful concept for heading to the last roundup. Great business model in taking care of everything. Since we travel a lot the "free shipping" from anywhere in the world is a reassuring arrangement😉. The price structure is reasonable. Their representative Christine is a true gem to work with. Getting buried is a waste of money! The cost of a coffin, burial site and headstone is ridiculous! I have a burial spot on Long Island, NY, but I don’t want my bones resting there. I planned on being cremated, and having a friend scatter my ashes, but when I found out how much energy cremation uses, that did not make me happy. I didn’t feel great about being dressed in a shroud and tossed into a hole as my current partner prefers. Soil transformation seemed more sensible. I wish it had been an option for my husband who died 5years ago. I want to make higher payments to get this paid off as soon as possible, but I’m not sure if Homesteaders (sp) is open to that. That is the reason why I gave 9 stars instead of 10. If I get a response to my email from Homesteaders, I’ll feel better. I don’t really trust insurance companies.

I like earth because it is an environmentally friendly alternative to the present methods of disposing of the human body after death.

Our research and the info webinar convinced us to sign up. Fortunately, we've not used services beyond that initial sign up and we're waiting for the arrival of documents, but the process so far has been very good. We have already discussed our decision with some friends and they are very interested in learing more, so we've provided contact info to them.
