Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth

Our Loving, Empathetic, and incredibly loyal brother, nephew, grandchild, and son, William Christopher Herring left this earth at approximately 6:40AM on November 28th, 2022 in Seattle, Washington, succumbing to complications from an Anoxic Brain Injury caused by sudden cardiac arrest a month prior. Raised in a home of Children raising Children, Chris began life as such a kind and loving soul. Even at a young age, he connected deeply with the animals and things around him. He was so intelligent, determined at the things that interested him, and full of wit and humor. His primary objective was always to create laughter and empathy in a way that someone who has undergone true suffering can. Diagnosed at a young age with mild autism, Chris struggled with traditional learning and was relentlessly bullied throughout his years of school, amidst losing one of his dearest loved ones, his Grandmother Faye Herring. Despite loving him with all that we had, it was not enough to shield him from the cruelty of the world. These things, as well as a decreasingly stable home life, led Chris into a adulthood of struggling with addiction, self worth, and true identity. We all watched as our loved one was transformed from someone so loving and full of laughter to someone who was completely overcome and overwhelmed by the disproportion of suffering upon his heavy shoulders. On November 2nd, we got a call we had all feared for so long, yet no one could ever imagine or prepare for coming. 26 days Later, Chris died at the age of 21. Chris loved to do art and listen to music like his mother, to play music and sing like his uncle. He loved skateboarding, video games, computer science, making people laugh in the hardest of times, and making you laugh so hard you cry. He spoke with the biggest voice, laughed with the biggest smile, and Loved with the biggest heart of any kid on the planet when you really, really knew him. We will never know exactly what caused Chris’s life to be cut so short, or why he had to suffer so much, but we do know that he was loved tremendously. So much more than he ever knew. We hope wherever you are, that it is peaceful there. That there is no more suffering there. No more harmful people and abuse. No more struggling with the woes of this life. As long as we’re alive Chris, a piece of you will live here with us. We love you. Till we see you again Mom, Uncle T and E, Mekenzie, Nana, & all of your grand parents, friends, and loved ones January 08, 2001- November 28, 2022 As was Chris’s wish, he will be returned to soil and planted around the country in the places and with the people he loved most. For anyone interested, we will be hosting a memorial tree planting service on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2023 at 4:22pm, at his home in Bruce Mississippi. Leave the earth with beauty

Earth specializes in soil transformation, an environmentally-friendly alternative to burial and cremation. Over a 45-day process, we gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. We then send this soil to our local conservation land where it’s used for restoration projects such as reforestation and nourishing challenged ecosystems.
