I am heartbroken to announce the death of my father, Terrence Richard Kassnel lovingly known to all as Terry. He passed away peacefully at the age of 62, in the presence of his immediate family on November 15th, 2022. Terry was born on April 28th, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio to Richard and Lucy (Armstrong) Kassnel. The world became brighter that day. He was the eldest of two immediate siblings, Pam and Matthew. Gordon Harrison, his step father was a great influence in Terry’s life instilling in him a strong sense of work ethic and discipline. After high school he spent a short time in construction before enlisting in the Navy, with much of his time spent in Pearl Harbor and San Diego where he met his ex-wife, Margaret Samayoa, with whom he had one son and gained two step-children. Terry was a bright light. He was compassionate, kind, funny, generous, and loved with all his heart. Anyone that knew him developed a special bond with him. He was forever curious in his quest for knowledge and life. He never missed an opportunity to live life to the fullest. He loved his bicycles, his craft beers, travel, dogs, trees, his books, hiking, fishing, cooking but most importantly his friends and family. He used every moment he could to be with his family and friends. He was committed to being there through every milestone big and small. He was a pillar of strength, support, and love to his wonderful wife and partner Tonia (Cotter) Kassnel. He is survived and forever loved by his wife Tonia Renee Kassnel, son Justin Louis Kassnel, step-daughter Jennifer West, brothers Matthew and Mark Kassnel, Jeffrey Harrison, sisters Pamela and Stefanie Kassnel and every single one of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by step-son Jason West. Due to the timeline for the Earth Funeral's process, memorial celebrations of Terry's life will be tentatively shared by February 2023. Likely in Ohio (Cleveland, Cincinnati), Oregon (Eugene), Canada (Grey Owl Lake, Mckellar, ON), etc. In lieu of flowers please donate on his behalf to the below or to a charity of your choice.
