Shawn Michael Bowen, age 45, passed away on February 1st, 2025 doing something he truly loved, leaving behind a world that was brighter because he was in it. Born in Germany, raised in Hawaii and Southern California, he lived every single day with insatiable passion, relentless adventure, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. Shawn never did anything halfway – whether it was his career in cybersecurity, his military service, pouring his heart into helping others, or his hobbies where he seized life with his whole being. He loved mentoring others in pursuing their passions, winning at every sport he possibly could, playing video games with his family and friends, and constantly learning about anything and everything under the sun. To those that knew him, “Shawn” was a verb – meaning to be completely consumed with picking apart every detail, understanding completely, and improving in any imaginable way. He lived his life with uncompromising boldness, kindness, and a personality that lit up everything and everyone around him. Above all, he loved his family with an intensity that cannot be put into words. He was a devoted husband to Danae Bowen and an amazing father to his greatest obsessions, Perse and Kit. He is also survived by his siblings Chris, Lindsay, and John, his nieces and nephews who all made him such a proud and loving fun uncle, and his father Ray. His love was boundless, his mood contagious, and his impact immeasurable. His life was a reminder to live fully and then some, love deeply, and never hold back. He will be missed beyond words but carried forever in the hearts of the many who loved him. A celebration of Shawn’s incredible life will be held at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix on March 1st, 2025. A military service will start at 1:30 pm and his celebration will follow from 2-5 pm.
