Judith Montague Brunn, daughter of the late Stanton and Betty Montague of Albany, NY, passed away quietly at home May 15th. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael Brunn, daughters Jessica Kanciruk (Michael) and Kate Brunn, grandchildren Ayla, Max, and Vladimir Kanciruk, sister Sandra Smith, brother Steven Montague (Barbara), extended family, and many dear friends. A graduate of Milne class of 1965, SUNY Oneonta, and Syracuse University, Judy spent her career teaching Home Economics in the South Colonie, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, Canajoharie and Cobleskill-Richmondville school districts. After retiring, she and Michael relocated from their dairy farm in Sharon Springs, NY to Hebron, Washington County, NY. Judy continued her interest in fiber arts throughout her life; she was a widely recognized quilter, rug hooker, and knitter, participating in several quilting guilds and many shows. Preferring a natural and eco-friendly final arrangement, Judy has decided to be composted; as such, there will not be any services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to High Peaks Hospice or Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research in her honor.
