John (Jim) James Trudeau Jr. September 10, 1963 – April 1, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John (Jim) James Trudeau, a beloved husband, brother, son, and friend to countless lives he touched. Born in Washington, D.C., Jim died on April 1, 2025, at the age of 61, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Jim leaves behind a family who adored him, including his devoted wife, Jacky Trudeau; his brothers, Jay Trudeau and Jeff Trudeau; and his loving mother, Joan Trudeau. He is preceded in death by his loving father John James Trudeau Sr. He is mourned not only by family but by the many friends and acquaintances who were privileged to experience the kindness, generosity, and joy that defined his life. Jim had a lifelong passion for music, horseracing, and all sports, particularly University of Maryland Terrapins athletics. Among his most cherished accomplishments was founding the Madness Eve party on the Wednesday before March Madness in Las Vegas, a celebrated event that drew over 1,500 attendees during this year's gathering at The Strat. Jim’s vision and determination turned a casual tradition that started with the MMILV Facebook Group into a monumental celebration that united college basketball fans and friends alike. A man with a brilliant mind, Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University and later graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland. His intelligence and insight were apparent to all who knew him, influencing and inspiring everyone who crossed his path. The connections and friendships he formed were enduring and meaningful, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to call him a friend. Jim's legacy lives on in the incredible memories, love, and laughter he brought to this world. He will forever be remembered for his indomitable spirit, his unyielding generosity, and his unwavering devotion to the people and passions that made his life remarkable. Rest in peace, Jim. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved you. "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." — The Beatles

Leave the earth with beauty

Earth specializes in soil transformation, an environmentally-friendly alternative to burial and cremation. Over a 45-day process, we gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. We then send this soil to our local conservation land where it’s used for restoration projects such as reforestation and nourishing challenged ecosystems.
