Frederic Augustus Webster (Gus) was born in Boston, MA on April 12, 1939 to Priscilla Alden Little and Frederic A. Webster. He passed away peacefully on Dec 3, 2022 in Bainbridge Island, WA, surrounded by his family. Raised in Cambridge, MA, he attended Shady Hill School (Class of '55) and Brooks School (Class of '58) in North Andover, before attending Boston University. He began a journalism career at The Lowell Sun, Lowell, MA. He moved his family to Lynchburg, VA in 1978 to continue newspaper reporting and investigative journalism at the Lynchburg News and Daily Advance, eventually winning an award for some of his investigative reporting. During the early 90s he switched careers to earn his CPA. He worked for the U. S. Army Audit Agency for a number of years, and then moved to Seattle, WA in 2000 to work as a Certified Fraud Examiner for the Department of Labor's Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration. In Seattle, he was very active with the Habitat of Humanity, a tireless advocate for gun control laws, and embraced faith in many forms: Episcopal faith at Christ Episcopal Church, Buddhist teachings through Seattle Insight Meditation Society, and the pursuit of truth with the Seattle Theosophical Society. He is survived by his ex-wife Anitra Webster, daughter Sarah Webster (Paul Robinson, son Oscar), son Seth Webster (Emilie, sons Bennett, William and Eli) and half brothers Gordon and Jeffrey Webster and their families.

Leave the earth with beauty

Earth specializes in soil transformation, an environmentally-friendly alternative to burial and cremation. Over a 45-day process, we gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. We then send this soil to our local conservation land where it’s used for restoration projects such as reforestation and nourishing challenged ecosystems.
