Cole was happiest filling a blank canvas with his art. He wasn’t too particular about what the canvas was, and utilized a variety of buildings, structures and; it’s rumored, even train cars. They were bold, vivid, often humorous expressions of his imagination. Cole was born on February 2, 1998 in San Diego, CA. He was the only son of Mark and Ashton Plymale. They are 2 people who should have known better than to start a family at 40, but common sense was never a particularly strong trait in either. For their efforts, they were rewarded with a beautiful baby boy. Everywhere the proud parents took him they were told their ‘Grandson’ was gorgeous! Before Cole took his first steps (at 8 months!), he’d been to the San Diego Zoo, swam in the Pacific and attended a Padres baseball game. Cole moved with his parents back to Roanoke, VA at a year old and attended schools in Roanoke County and Vinton. In 2016, in an election that sent seismic reverberations throughout the cafeteria, Cole was voted Senior Class President of William Byrd High School. Along the way many people helped, mentored, and befriended him and he was grateful to you all. After high school Cole briefly attended VCU as an Art Major before leaving to make his way in the working world. It was in Richmond he really thrived in the art and music community and made many lasting friendships. A recent series of life events brought Cole back to Roanoke where he lived with the same clueless pair that brought him into this world. Cole’s abrupt and unexpected passing leaves his many family members devastated. Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends here in the US and the UK are equally impacted. Cole was beloved. Cole has gone to Seattle, WA for soil transformation with Earth Funeral. We urge everyone to explore the website earthfuneral.com to understand the soil transformation process and why this environmentally-friendly process aligned so closely with Cole’s beliefs. Anyone wishing to make a contribution to his memory should donate to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (www.aafa.org). Plans are underway for a Celebration of Cole’s Amazing Short Life in Roanoke and Richmond. Once the plans are set, notice will be broadcasted through social media.
