**Obituary for Cacey Chapman** It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Cacey Chapman, 38, on June 5, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. Cacey's sudden departure has left her family, friends, and community in deep sorrow and disbelief. Cacey is survived by her devastated family: her loving mother, Pam Mayton of Portland, OR; her father, Paul Chapman of Clovis, NM; her sister, Jessica Tate; brother-in-law, Jason; and her beloved nephew, Elijah, all of Portland, OR. She also leaves behind her dear aunt, Susan, and cousin, Josh, of Orlando, FL. She also has an uncle, Rodney Mayton of Tampa, FL and an uncle, Craig Chapman of Portales, NM. A talented and incredible artist, Cacey loved experimenting with different pencils and mediums in her drawings. Her creativity extended to designing several of her own tattoos, each piece a testament to her artistic vision and personal expression. Cacey had a deep love for animals, having rescued two dogs and a cat who were her cherished companions. Cacey was surrounded by a loving group of friends who will dearly miss her support and humor in their community. Her ability to bring joy and laughter into their lives created strong bonds that will be cherished forever. Cacey's parting gift to this world was as an organ donor, a final act of generosity and compassion. Her heart, kidneys, eyes, and tissue have given the gift of life and hope to others. To honor Cacey's memory, her family encourages everyone to consider registering as an organ donor and making a small donation in her name to your local animal shelter or Indigo Dog Rescue, reflecting her love for animals and her giving spirit. In accordance with Cacey's wishes, she will have a green burial, and there will not be a memorial service. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff in the ER and ICU at Adventist Health Portland as well as the Organ Donation team for the wonderful care and support provided to both Cacey and her family during this difficult time. Cacey's legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

Leave the earth with beauty

Earth specializes in soil transformation, an environmentally-friendly alternative to burial and cremation. Over a 45-day process, we gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. We then send this soil to our local conservation land where it’s used for restoration projects such as reforestation and nourishing challenged ecosystems.
