Adele Eustis

March 9, 1954 - Nov. 22, 2022

Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth

Adele Eustis 1954 to 2022. Wife, aunt, sister, friend. Artist, athlete, witch, gardener, quester. Survived by her husband Ken Barnes, June Morton, who raised her, sister Annette Jarman and brothers Britt and Allan Eustis and many beloved nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Determined: to thrive in a sexist, male-dominated world of TV live sports; then to express herself through art; to make the world a better place through plants; to provide the most love and care for her animals, including husband Ken; and to love herself and others. Adele and Ken met skiing at a backcountry hut in British Columbia. When Ken followed Adele to Tibet for a trek they fell in love and Adele relocated from Rhode Island to Seattle. Adele retired from her career as a technical director in live sports (Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics, among other events) and focused on making brilliant art. They shared a love of travel and projects, taking on increasingly larger and more imprudent projects until the completion of their dream art studio cured them of such irrational urges. Adele then focused on improving the soil and plantings in the garden, walking on the beach during a short time living in Port Townsend, teaching kids art, and studying spiritual teachings from many traditions. This study benefitted her and her loved ones when cancer entered her life. In her memory, Adele would wish that all her many friends love themselves, so that they can also love others. And if you know a young person, a bit lost in the world, find them a set of colored pencils and pad of paper. And tell them that every work of love is a masterpiece.

Leave the earth with beauty

Earth specializes in soil transformation, an environmentally-friendly alternative to burial and cremation. Over a 45-day process, we gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. We then send this soil to our local conservation land where it’s used for restoration projects such as reforestation and nourishing challenged ecosystems.
