Dec. 23, 1953 - Dec. 7, 2024

Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth

Abel Domingues of Inwood, New York died quietly and peacefully on December 7th 2024 of pancreatic cancer in Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. A consummate guitarist and perfectionist to the core, he carefully orchestrated his own funeral and memorial and pre-determined how all of his musical instruments would be distributed. He will be transformed into soil by Earth Funeral of Washington and become a nurturing element in our ailing mother earth. He leaves behind his wife Colette Domingues, his sister, Janet Korzun and her son David and daughter-in-law Courtney. Abel is beloved by his nephew Joseph Novak and his partner in life Renee, his nephew-in-law David Drews and his four sons Michael, Jonathan, Christopher and Brian and no less by his niece Alicia Sanchez and her children Cesare, Gianna, Josephine and Antonio. His Portuguese and English relatives mourn his loss as closely as do all the family in the United States. Abel earned all the love he was given and will be sorely missed by his family and all of the devoted friends who cared for him and Colette during his hospitalization. His celebration of life will take place in New York forty-five days after the transformation has begun and all will be notified in good time.

Leave the earth with beauty

Earth specializes in soil transformation, an environmentally-friendly alternative to burial and cremation. Over a 45-day process, we gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. We then send this soil to our local conservation land where it’s used for restoration projects such as reforestation and nourishing challenged ecosystems.
