Sharyn Disanza

March 25, 1951 - May 19, 2025

Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth Leaf - Earth

Sharyn DiSanza (nee Cooke) was welcomed into this world by Bill and Toni Cooke on March 25th, 1951, in Bethesda, Maryland. Bill’s career in the Navy took their family across the country to various port cities until his retirement in the 1960s. It was then that they decided to settle down in Boulder City, NV, where Sharyn graduated high school in 1969. From there, she enrolled at UNLV on her path to become a teacher of the arcane arts of mathematics - graduating with a degree in education in 1974. At UNLV, she did as many do - joined a sorority (Alpha Delta Pi), collected friends and became enamored with a man that would become her husband. Frank DiSanza and Sharyn Cooke were married in August of 1974 and welcomed their first son Michael in 1977. Edward followed a few years later in 1981 while they were living in Glendale, Arizona. 1984 brought Sharyn and her young family back to Boulder City, NV where she and Frank raised their sons in “the Mayberry of the West” until they both graduated high school and started making their own way in the world. During that time, Sharyn’s career as a teacher waned and she became the office manager for St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Boulder City, where she became a fixture for many years and in various roles for the small catholic community. 1998 began a new chapter in Sharyn’s life, as she and Frank divorced and Sharyn began studies in Women’s spirituality. That was also the year that she entered her life partnership with Lynn Lakers. Sharyn and Lynn started their company, LivingstoneS Corp., in 1999 offering bookkeeping, business management, accounting services and tax preparations to hundreds of clients over the next 25 years. Lynn and Sharyn spent countless days at Disneyland and enjoyed yearly vacations to Lake Tahoe to unwind from the heat of the Southern Nevada summers. Over the last 18 years, Sharyn enthusiastically embraced her role as grandmother to her five awesome grand daughters, taking an active role in their education, taught them crafts, and ran the “grandma Uber service” to help them get where they needed to be. Sharyn’s love of crafts permeated her life and those around her. She loved to sew and would take on pretty much any project that needed a thread - clothes, hand bags, sandwich bags, tote bags, dolls, quilts, as well as cross stitch, crochet. Sometimes she even sold the things she made, but mostly her creativity was for herself and for those she loved. Sharyn’s spirit peacefully left this world at her home on May 19th, 2025, surrounded by close family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Sharyn is survived by her partner, Lynn, sons Michael (Amanda) and Edward (Mandy), grandchildren Shealeigh, Arabella, Artemis, Marleigh, and Ronin, brothers Bill (Mary) and Ken (Rita), and her sister Theresa (Brad).

Leave the earth with beauty

Earth specializes in soil transformation, an environmentally-friendly alternative to burial and cremation. Over a 45-day process, we gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. We then send this soil to our local conservation land where it’s used for restoration projects such as reforestation and nourishing challenged ecosystems.
