Nathan Osborn Baily died on Monday August 5th, 2024 in Roseburg, Oregon. Nathan was born on January 16, 1945. He remained close to his extended family throughout his life. He spent his childhood in Denver, Colorado, graduating from East High School as part of the class of 1963. The friendships he made at East would last a lifetime. Nathan’s life was filled with travel and adventures, taking him to Puerto Rico, Germany, Spain, Italy, Alaska, and Oregon. His friends were many and worldwide. His hobbies included photography, fishing, reading about history and natural sciences, conservation and green energy, politics, gardening, and genealogy. After moving to Oregon, Nathan became a master gardener. As part of the Roseburg Master Gardeners group, Nathan was in charge of tending and feeding the composting worms. Over time, these worms created the compost and compost “tea” that nurtured many gardens in the Roseburg area. By choosing to have his human remains composted, Nathan continued to celebrate the natural world, and his place in it. Nathan will be missed by his numerous friends around the globe, his family, his wife, his step-daughters and grandchildren, and all who felt his unique presence in their lives.
