Christopher Patrick Garvey passed away on March 23, 2025. Born on June 24, 1964, in Queens, NY, to Mary Ann Reilly and Martin Thomas Garvey, he brought warmth, kindness, and laughter to everyone he met throughout his life. Chris spent his elementary years in Los Angeles, where his love for the L.A. Dodgers and Rams took root—a passion that stayed with him always. Known for his friendliness, he never met a stranger, greeting the world with a smile, a joke, and an open heart. His compassion touched countless lives, earning him the love and admiration of everyone fortunate enough to know him. An avid golfer and bowler, Chris found joy on both the fairways and lanes, where his laughter and good company made every round unforgettable. The foundation of his Christian faith was laid by his loving parents. Chris was christened in Flushing, NY, at St. Andrew Avellino Roman Catholic Church in 1964 and confirmed at Saint John Vianney Parish in Walnut Creek, CA, in 1977. Later in life, his spiritual journey continued into the Apostolic-Pentecostal church, being baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus at Roseville Christian Fellowship in Roseville, CA, in 1995, and baptized in the Holy Spirit at Apostolic Tabernacle in Merced, CA, in May of the same year. He is preceded in death by his father Martin Thomas Garvey. Chris is survived by his mother Mary Ann Garvey, his siblings, Martin (Carol) Garvey and Katy (Dan) Fairbank, sons John (Guillerma) Garvey and Joseph Garvey. He is also survived by his beloved step-children, Alex Palma, Gabriel (Peggy Ann) Palma, Jacob (Mandy) Palma, Kelsey Dani, Jake Dani, Nicolaus Dani, and eight grandchildren: Caleb, Zara, Wyatt, Aleah, Grace, Lucas, Moriah and John. Above all else, Chris loved his children and grandchildren dearly, and his devotion to his family was the heartbeat of his life. His caring and selfless spirit will live on in the memories and lives of those who cherished him.
