Brigid Kathleen McCreary November 5, 1974 – March 14, 2025 Brigid Kathleen McCreary passed away on March 14, 2025, in Sacramento, California, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and wonder. Born on November 5, 1974, in San Francisco, Brigid lived a life filled with color, kindness, and an unwavering belief in standing up for what’s right. She is survived by her devoted husband of 12 years, Ken McCreary. Theirs was a love story for the ages—married just six weeks after meeting, they built a life full of laughter, adventure, and deep connection. She was the proud and loving mother of two sons, Erik and Marcus Dillenburg, who were the center of her world. Brigid is also survived by her parents, Kathleen and William Hallissey, and her siblings: Elizabeth (Mark) Swisegood, Norman (Rayna) Hallissey, William Hallissey, and Sharon Hallissey. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Alicia Hallissey, whom she missed deeply. Her life was shared not only with family and friends but with a beloved collection of pets—three loyal dogs: Codex, Merida, and Snickers, and two cherished cats: Odin and Jasmine. Her garden was a sanctuary, filled with flowers, birds she lovingly fed, and a quiet magic she nurtured every day. Brigid worked as a medical coder at Kaiser Permanente since 2011, a role she fulfilled with quiet dedication and precision. But her true passions were found beyond her profession. She was an avid traveler, an enthusiastic reader, and a lover of nature, pets, Disney, decorating, and the little joys of life. She created a beautiful garden and a library that reflected her spirit—vibrant, nurturing, and full of stories. Her earlier life was filled with movement and adventure—from swimming and running to relocating across the country. She lived in California, Hawaii, Montana, Washington, Oklahoma, and even Alaska—a move sparked spontaneously when she and her friends threw a dart at a map. Raised in Washington and California, her roots ran deep, but her dreams reached far—planning to retire in France someday and continue her pursuit of beauty and peace. Brigid was unapologetically herself: stubborn in her convictions, wonderfully quirky, fiercely loving, and endlessly kind. She had the rare gift of drawing people in with her warmth and authenticity. She saw beauty in everything and shared it generously through photos, videos, and quiet moments of joy. Her memory lives on in every blooming flower, every well-loved book, every act of kindness. In honoring Brigid, we remember to love fiercely, dream boldly, and always take time to feed the birds. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Brigid by planting something, taking a spontaneous trip, or simply pausing to appreciate the beauty around you—just as she always did.
